Horses, Humans, and Healing: Equine Assisted Psychotherapy
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy - Chelmsford, MA
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP)
Sitting in an office with a counselor or therapist can be overwhelming, uncomfortable, and the idea of just sitting and talking about the difficult parts of our life, just too much. Instead, imagine being outside, building skills, processing emotions and doing it with horses and an experienced therapist.
The activities are often derived from established therapy models like DBT, TF-CBT, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and narrative family therapy. You are moving around in the paddock and engaged with the horses, not with me.
You don't have to have ever been around horses to appreciate equine assisted psychotherapy and experience growth and healing for you and/or your loved ones. There is no riding involved but lots of interacting with the horses. All you have to have is a pair of covered shoes and an open mind! We are located in a residential neighborhood in Chelmsford, MA. Sessions in the paddock last between 60 and 90 minutes in general. #horsesaretherapy
